The latest FMCG choose-your-side on Facebook

Courtesy of some friends at Facebook – I noticed a few people befriending one or the other from minty specialists Polo.
Whilst Marmite have established themselves as the ubiquitous leader in this game it’s a nice spin to get users engaging with a Brand of such established heritage.  Given the numbers and the fact I haven’t seen any above the line support I’d say its early days yet, but the cheeky innuendo is sure to get people like-ing soon.
Let’s see if this draws as much traction as the Marmite campaign, and what Polo / Nestle do in the (Continued…)

Nissan to sponsor Virgin Red Room Shows

Our friends at Virgin have just informed us that there will be a brand new Virgin Red Rooms show launching this month.
The music show will live on Virgin.com but will also go out across the Virgin universe – on planes, in gyms etc.
Wise Buddah are the production agency behind the show and Greg James and Huw Stephens will be presenting the show. Nissan has been confirmed as title sponsor.

AOL signs video deal with ITN

AOL has inked a deal with ITN to receive hundreds of hours of news, entertainment and lifestyle clips.
The move comes as part of AOL’s initiative to make the company a major online content portal.
According to the The Guardian, ITN will provide AOL with news covering UK, world, showbiz, money and sports as well as entertainment and lifestyle content spanning video gaming, music, TV, movies and fashion.
Rebecca Laurence at AOL Music tells us that for music ITN will supply the site with music news, interviews and other clips which (Continued…)

Can Facebook’s ‘Like’ evolve search and kill Digg?

I actually started writing this post a few weeks ago, then left it alone through losing a bit of rhythm in what i was writing. Then a couple days ago i saw Nick O’Niel over at ‘All Facebook’ wrote a pretty cool article about the ‘Like’ button pivoting a potentially incoming war with Google and Facebook, which spurred me to press the publish button on this.

Channel 4 Pick Up rights for Pocket TV

Sony Ericson confirmed this week that highlights from the online show’s second series would be aired on Channel 4 this month.

Pocket TV, which has been developed as a form of branded content for Sony Ericsson has become popular, with the show’s second series receiving over 8 Million views across YouTube, MSN and PS3/Vidzone.
