John Lewis releases music album of ad covers

John-Lewis-Logo John Lewis has unveiled a charity music album featuring the hit cover versions of pop songs used in its TV ad campaigns over the past four years.
The 11-track album, called ‘Reworked’, went on sale on Monday 28 November. The CD is also available in all John Lewis and Waitrose stores.

London A programme capturing life in Britain in a 24-hour period has launched as part of the BBC’s Cultural Olympiad.
‘Britain In A Day’ took contributions from the public about their lives on 12 November this year.

Guardian iPad app was downloaded 145,000 times in one week

The Guardian’s iPad app, which launched this month, has generated over 145,000 downloads in its first week, while its Facebook app has clocked up over 1m installs after its launch last month. Over 85,000 downloads have come from UK iPad-owners, while US Guardian readers generated over 29,000 downloads. Meanwhile, downloads from the rest of the world have almost reached 32,000.

Pandora’s licensing hiccups


Pandora founder Tim Westergren has said that the personalised radio service will not be able to move outside the US under licensing deals are sorted.
The service was launched 11 years ago and currently has 37 million active users in the US. It was originally available in the UK, however it restricted access to the US after failing to get necessary rights agreements in place.
